Lectio Divina Presentation

Presented by Sr. Kathryn Ann Kobelinski SSND Sister

EndedSt. Rita's Square

Event Description

Contemplative Outreach of Wisconsin Invites you to a presentation of Lectio Divina. Lectio Divina means divine reading, that is, reading the book we believe to be divinely inspired. This ancient Christian tradition of prayer flows out of a Hebrew method of studying the scriptures. It was an interactive interpretation of the scriptures by means of the free use of the text to explore their inner meaning. There are two traditional approaches to Lectio Divina: the monastic and the scholastic. Presenter Sr. Kathryn Ann Kobelinski SSND Sister became involved with Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina in the early 80’s which led her to become a commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina. She served as the coordinator of COSEW and continues to serve on the Coordinating Team. Presently she serves on the International Lectio Divina Service Team of Contemplative Outreach.
