December Retreat at Siena

DECEMBER 12-15, 2024 (Thursday – Sunday) Today the on-going development of scientific understandings of the origins of the universe are deeply shaping spirituality. The Universe, or New Story moves us, among other things, from a fall-redemption spirituality to a creation-centered, evolutionary one, and from an adolescent spirituality to an adult one. Come aside for this retreat to look deeply into this new chapter in the evolution of spirituality, and reflect on its implications for ourselves, our faith traditions, and the world. This is a Centering Prayer retreat that is silent throughout including during meals, interspersed with conferences by the presenter, time for Q & A, scheduled times for Centering Prayer in community, periods of free time to enjoy walking in nature, and optional soul friending with staff. PRESENTER Jim Gill holds a master's degree from the Institute in Creation Centered at Mundelein College in Chicago and trained as a spiritual guide through Siena Retreat Center's Spiritual Guidance Training Program. He ministered in Milwaukee area parishes for over three decades in Adult, Family and Child formation. Most recently he was a staff member at Siena Retreat Center. In July of 2020, Jim began a free-lance ministry in retirement. During the last three years, he has shared his knowledge of numerous mystics which many of you may have participated in. Retreat begins with an evening meal at 5:30pm on Thursday and ends after 12 noon lunch on Sunday. There is an optional Centering Prayer session on Thursday at 4:45pm. Registration Information: (you are encouraged to register early because space is limited) If you pay by check, the fee is $500 & includes a private room, all meals, snacks, soul friending, & handout materials ($515 with credit card). A $100 nonrefundable deposit is due by November 29th. The balance of the retreat fee ($400) is due by Dec 2, 2024. Based on need, a limited amount of partial scholarship money is available. Please submit the reason for requesting a scholarship and the amount you can pay. You can locate our registration form at: contemplativewisconsin.org/retreat. For anyone who is able, donations to the COSEW Scholarship Fund are welcome.

Cancellation Policy

COSEW General Policy for Cancellations/Refunds: The amount paid for a workshop/class may be applied to a future workshop/class or applied to COSEW as a tax-deductible donation. Retreats: The deposit for retreats is non-refundable. The remaining balance is refundable if cancelled at least 5 days before the beginning of the retreat.
